Arvind Kejriwal To Be Arrested By ED Today? claim AAP ministers
On Wednesday night, several Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders presented angst that party leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s home could be searched the following morning, and supposed he could be arrested. The party’s National General Secretary, Sandeep Pathak, wrote in an online post that, “ED likely to conduct an early morning raid on Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal tomorrow.”
Minister Atishi posted also a similar post, “ The news is coming that ED is ready to search Arvind Kejriwal’s home tomorrow morning, suppose to be arrested.”
Along with these people, Senior leader Jasmine Shah also wrote “ Tomorrow morning, ED is going to search the Arvind Kejriwal residence and there is a possibility of his arrest, confirmed by a source.”
Delhi Police confirmed that they had complete exhibitions outside the ED’s headquarters for Wednesday morning. An AAP leader’s post confirmed that the North district police settled high-security arrangements outside the CM house.
Kejriwal has received three summonses from the ED to date, with the most recent one issued on December 21. He was instructed to attend an interrogation session scheduled for Wednesday.
In a letter to the ED assistant director, referring to Rajya Sabha elections, Republic Day Celebrations, and the Enforcement Directorate cites a strategy of “non-disclosure” and “non-response” as explanations for not participating in the inquiry related to the excise policy case.
Arvind Kejriwal party members, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, and communication in-charge Vijay Nair were also arrested in the case.
Last year in February, former Sisodia was arrested after being inquiry by CBI about its case. Later he was taken into custody by ED related to a money laundering act case it has filed. On October 4, Singh was arrested by the investing agency after being inquiry at his home. Nair, in the meantime, was apprehended by the CBI in November 2022, and subsequently, the ED also arrested him.
Arvind Kejriwal said that the Election Commission of India had determined to adhere the elections to the Rajya Sabha from the National Capital Territory of Delhi, in a letter transfer to the ED assistant director. On Wednesday, voting begins and takes place on January 19.
After this, he wrote that he would “ Would gladly reply to any questionnaire” if the ED requested data or documents in his custody.”
In October, the first summons was issued to Kejriwal, where the ED asked him to come for questioning on November 2. On December 18, the second summons was delivered, asking him to come on 21 December and the third summons deliver him to on Wednesday to present.
Every time, Kejriwal questioned the validity of the summons and bounced questioning. While transferring to both letters delivered to the agency in the past, he expressed concern that no response had been received, considering it a matter of importance.
He said in their Wednesday response, that Ed’s quiet on these details led him to, conclude that you are supporting unnecessary secretiveness and are being blurred and capricious in the present matter.”
