India’s Upcoming Lunar Mission- Chandrayaan-3 Launch Date, Time, and Location Revealed
After various revelations were made about launching the Chandrayaan 3, it is all set to be launched in July this year. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) mated the spacecraft with its launch vehicle at Satish Dhawan Space Center located in Sriharikota.
Earlier this year, in March, the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft underwent crucial tests to ensure its resilience against the intense vibrations and acoustics it would face during launch. The successful completion of these tests confirmed the spacecraft’s quality to withstand the challenging conditions of its upcoming mission.
Chandrayaan-3 Integration
The launch of the spacecraft is now in its final stage and is now been integrated into a 3900 marvel which will serve as the payload called the LVM3.
The integration has successfully been carried out on July 5 which was proudly announced by the ISRO. This significant milestone brings us one step closer to the much-anticipated launch of Chandrayaan-3, showcasing India’s commitment to space exploration.
Chandrayaan-3 Launch Vehicle
The spacecraft had to go through various tests to ensure its smooth landing considering the Chandrayaan-3 launch vehicle, the LVM3 (Launch Vehicle Mark-III) would be carrying it. The vehicle consists of three vehicles: propulsion, lander, and rover. Each one has its own significance.
The lander and rover arrangement module would be carried up to a distance of 100 km from the lunar orbit by the module. The Spectro-polarimetry of the Habitable Planet Earth would be used to explore the Earth’s spectral and polarimetric statements from the lunar orbit.
The lander is equipped with tools like the Langmuir Probe, Instrument for Lunar Seismic Activity, and Chandra’s Surface Thermophysical Experiment. The Alpha Particle X-ray Spectrometer and Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy for introductory arrangement investigation make up the rover payloads.
Chandrayaan-3 Purpose
The third expedition to the moon serves as the subsequent mission following the Chandrayaan-2, which aims at showcasing India’s capabilities in achieving a safe landing and roving on the lunar surface. The Chandrayaan-2 took place on July 22, 2019, However, the mission encountered a setback when the Vikram lunar lander experienced a crash on the Moon during the early hours of September 6.
As a part of the Chandrayaan-3 Purpose, various scientific mechanisms are onboard to research the lunar regolith’s thermophysical properties, lunar seismic activity, the plasma environment on the lunar surface, and elemental composition near the landing site.
The scientific instruments on both the lander and rover align intending to study the “Science of the Moon.” According to representatives from ISRO, a piece of experimental equipment will also observe the spectro-polarimetric signals of Earth from the lunar orbit, adding to the subject of “Science from the Moon.”
Chandrayaan-3 Launch Date and Time
The most awaited space mission will mark India’s third expedition to the moon, showcasing the nation’s continued dedication to space exploration. Chandrayaan 3 launch date and time are anticipated to be between July 13 to July 19. According to the ISRO officials, The aim is to launch the mission on July 13 at 2:30 PM IST.
