Coronaviruses And Their Symptoms
Coronaviruses are types of viruses that infect your nose, upper throat or sinuses. They are common in many species of animals, including humans. Some coronaviruses can only infect animals, but some can infect both animals and humans. Coronaviruses were first identified in the 1960s, in humans.
Most of the Coronaviruses are spread through the infected persons by coughing, sneezing, by touching the infected person or things that infected person touched or by respiratory secretions. Coronaviruses are in the crown-like shape that’s why they named as the coronavirus, in Latin corona means ‘hola’ or ‘crown’.
Types of Coronaviruses
There are seven different types of coronavirus that infect human beings. The kinds of coronavirus depend on how far they can spread and seriousness of the illness they cause.
These four viruses are common human coronaviruses; humans around the world get commonly infected with these viruses.
- 2296 (alpha coronavirus)
- NL63 (alpha coronavirus)
- OC43 (beta coronavirus)
- HKU1 (beta coronavirus)
Other human coronaviruses which are more dangerous types of coronaviruses are:
- MERS-CoV is the beta-human coronavirus which causes Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS)
- SARS- CoV is the beta-human coronavirus which causes Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)
- 2019-nCoV (2019 Novel coronavirus)
Symptoms of Coronaviruses
The Symptoms of coronaviruses includes:-
- Cough
- Sneezing
- Runny nose
- Sore throat
- Fever (in rare cases)
- Fatigue
Diagnosis
There is no proper treatment or vaccine for coronaviruses. So to prevent coronavirus do the same things you do at the time of common cold.
- Avoid overexertion and take rest
- Drink water or some liquid things
- Avoid smoky place and smoking
- Wash your hands with soap and warm water
- Avoid close contact with those who are infected
