G20 Summit 2023: List of Delhi Metro Stations that will Remain Closed from Sept 8-10

On the G20 Summit that was organized in our county, on Saturday, Delhi police asked the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation ( DMRC) to shut a few entries and exits at a number of metro stations. The police have asked the adjacent 39 metro stations for three days from September 8 to 10. 

Delhi police DCP ( metro) G Ram Gopal Naik has started this matter and takes ṭhis as a top priority. On the other hand, DMC also announced that the passengers will not be allowed to exit the train at the Supreme Court Metro Station.

In a letter that was sent to the chief security commissioner of DMRC, they wrote in this letter,” As you are aware the G20 Summit – 2023 is around the corner and we are making all practicable efforts to enhance the security matrix. Hence, in order to preserve certain security arrangements during the upcoming summit, it is needed to ensure that the gates that open towards the VVIPs route/ venue of summit/ place of stay may be locked from 08.09.2023 to 10.09.2023.”

As per the letter, few entry and exit gates at IGI Airport, Aero City, Dhaula Kuan, South Campus, Khan Market, Janpath, Kailash Colony, Moolchand, Supreme Court, Barakhamba Road, Ashram, Jangpura, IIT, Hauz Khas, Central Secretariat, Lok Kalyan Marg, ITO, Chandi Chowk and 18 other stations will be closed for three days and also announced that only these station are blocked and many others will be open and regular movement allowed.

During the international affair, agencies are vacating no monuments to investigate to deliver strict protection. This week, the heads and notables from the associate countries of G20 Summit will arrive in the national capital. 

For the G20 Summit event, a minimum of 130,000 security workforce will be established, which will comprise 80,0000 workforces of Delhi Police and Central Forces and the workforce cannot wear Khaki Uniform, according to reports, they wear a blue uniform. 

Among the 45,000 workforces of Central forces commandos will be trained with high-clarity driving skills.

Along with this, the Indian Air Force is also going to install extensive measures for integrated aerospace shielding in Delhi and nearby districts. Indian Military will also install anti-drone systems to catch any aeroform threats.

To protect the international guests that come for G20 Summit events, the Indian government has subleased 20 bulletproof limousines, at the cost of RS 18 crore.

Along with this security, a special security team is arranged and installed around the various hotels where all the foreign guests will stay for the G20 Summit event.

The Delhi police will closely record every border of the city and also install an AI research firm, Staqu, that has been hired to search the criminals and regulate or close their entry into the capital. Along with this, Staqu specializes in pulling out information from amorphous data like images and audio and the company has installed software into the CCTVs, to record all the activity that happens in all the borders of Delhi.
