How to Apply for Learner License Online
If you’re a resident of Delhi and looking to apply for a learner’s license, you can now do so from the comfort of your home. The Delhi government has made it possible to apply for a learner’s license online, saving you the hassle of waiting in long lines at the Regional Transport Office (RTO). The Process to Apply for Learner License Online
Step 1: Visit the Parivahan website
To begin the application process, you need to visit the official website of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways – Parivahan (https://parivahan.gov.in). Select ‘Driving Licence Related Services’ from the drop-down menu after clicking the ‘Online Services option.
Step 2: Select your state
Once you’ve accessed the ‘Driving License Related Services’ page, select your state from the drop-down menu. In this case, select ‘Delhi’ from the list of states.
Step 3: Choose the service you require
On the next page, you will notice a list of services related to driving licenses. Choose the ‘Apply Online’ option under the ‘Learner License’ section.
Step 4: Fill out the application form
Once you’ve selected the ‘Apply Online’ option, you will be mandated to an application form. You will be required to fill out personal details such as your name, date of birth, and address. You will also require to give extra details like your blood group, educational qualifications, and identification marks.
Step 5: Upload documents
After filling out the application form, you will be mandated to upload scanned copies of the necessary documents. These documents include your passport-sized photograph, address proof, and age proof.
Step 6: Schedule an appointment
Once you’ve completed the application form and uploaded the necessary documents, you can schedule an appointment at your nearest RTO for the learner’s license test. You will be able to select the date and time that is convenient for you.
Step 7: Payment
The next phase is to make the cost for the learner’s license application. You can pay the license fee online through net banking, debit or credit card, or through an e-wallet.
Step 8: Take the learner’s license test
On the planned date and time, you will need to visit the RTO to take the learner’s license test. The test generally consists of a written exam that assesses your knowledge of road rules and signs.
If you pass the test, you will be issued a learner’s license. The learner’s license is valid for six months and allows you to practice driving under the supervision of a licensed driver. After 6 months, you will be able to apply for a permanent driving license.

Eligibility Criteria for a Learner License Online

- To drive a light motor vehicle, an individual must be 18 years or older.
