Kangana Ranaut And ‘Ramayan’ Actor Arun Govil Enter Political Arena with BJP Debut in Polls
Popular actors Kangana Ranaut & Arun Govil have been named as candidates on the latest BJP roster for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Arun Govil, renowned for his portrayal of Lord Ram in the iconic TV series Ramayan, has been nominated to contest from the Meerut Lok Sabha constituency. On the other hand, Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut, hailing from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi, will be vying for a seat in her hometown.
At 37 years old, Kangana Ranaut, a staunch supporter of the BJP, expressed her gratitude to the party for selecting her as their Lok Sabha candidate for Mandi. Currently, the constituency is represented by Congress leader Pratibha Singh.
The inclusion of these prominent actors in the BJP’s candidate list reflects the party’s strategy to bring in individuals with wide public appeal and influence from various walks of life. Their presence adds a dynamic element to the political landscape and underscores the BJP’s efforts to field candidates who resonate with the electorate.
Both Kangana Ranaut and Arun Govil’s entry into politics marks a significant departure from their careers in entertainment. Their decision to contest in the Lok Sabha elections underscores their commitment to contributing to the nation’s governance and development.
As the Lok Sabha elections draw near, all eyes will be on Kangana Ranaut and Arun Govil as they embark on their political journeys, seeking to secure victory and represent the interests of their respective constituencies in Parliament.
Expressing unwavering allegiance to my beloved Bharat and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), I am honored to announce that the national leadership of the BJP has chosen me as their candidate for the Lok Sabha elections from my birthplace, Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. I wholeheartedly abide by the decision of the party’s high command regarding my candidacy for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. This opportunity fills me with a deep sense of responsibility and commitment toward serving my constituency and contributing to the nation’s progress.
Both actors had participated in the prestigious Ram temple event held in Ayodhya in January.
Arun Govil, along with Anuradha Paudwal, recently became a member of the BJP. He is stepping in for BJP MP Rajendra Agrawal in the Meerut contest. Mr. Agrawal has served as a Member of Parliament from the Meerut-Hapur constituency for three consecutive terms since 2009.
The BJP, amidst a flurry of election gatherings, unveiled an additional 111 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls this evening. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has been nominated to contest from Sambalpur, while the party’s spokesperson, Sambit Patra, will once again vie for the seat in Puri, following a close defeat in 2019. Notably, prominent figures such as Union Ministers Ashwini Kumar Choubey and VK Singh, along with MP Varun Gandhi, have been omitted from the candidate list.
Earlier today, VK Singh declared that he would not participate in the Lok Sabha polls.
Maneka Gandhi, a prominent figure in Indian politics, has been nominated as the candidate from Sultanpur. Her extensive experience and leadership in various capacities within the BJP make her a formidable contender for this seat. Sultanpur, located in Uttar Pradesh, is a crucial constituency, and Maneka Gandhi’s nomination underscores the party’s confidence in her ability to secure victory.
In Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh minister Jitin Prasada has emerged as the replacement for Varun Gandhi. Jitin Prasada’s political acumen and experience as a minister in the state government position him as a strong candidate for representing the interests of Pilibhit’s constituents. This change reflects the BJP’s strategic decision to field candidates who can effectively connect with voters and uphold the party’s values and agenda.
Meanwhile, Sita Soren’s candidacy from Dumka, Jharkhand, marks a significant development, particularly considering her recent switch from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) to the BJP. Sita Soren brings with her a wealth of experience and influence in Jharkhand politics, and her decision to join the BJP underscores the party’s growing appeal and outreach in the region.
In a surprising move, the BJP has opted not to field former Union minister Anant Kumar Hegde from the Uttara Kannada constituency. This decision signals a strategic recalibration in candidate selection, possibly aimed at enhancing the party’s electoral prospects in the region. While the reasons behind this decision remain undisclosed, it reflects the BJP’s dynamic approach to candidate nomination and its focus on optimizing electoral outcomes.
