Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain Stated that the first case of COVID variant Omicron reaches Delhi. Mr. Jain added, a victim admitted to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital. Who came from Tanzania, had examined positive for the new variant. The patient had a painful throat, body pain, and weakness as per the health directors. The other two cases were identified from Maharashtra and Gujrat on Saturday.

He further said, “The government of Delhi had done its arrangements even prior to the coming of the new variant of the corona. To fight this virus, the government of Delhi et up 40 quarantine wards in LNJP hospital, with extra 500 beds are ready if required.” Responding to the decision of the central government not to suspend flights from all nations influenced by the variant of Omicron, Mr. Jain said, “This is very unfavorable. So far 5 new cases are notified in the nation. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to the Center requesting to hold the flights arriving from these nations for a certain time. But the central government didn’t do that”.

He further stated that “Delhi gets the several flights from overseas, so Delhi is at highest hazard. The Central government must heed the requirement of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and halt all coming flights from all the nation gripped by the variant of Omicron must be halted as soon as possible”.
