PM Modi to inaugurate India’s 1st RapidX rail today: Delhi to Meerut in Under 1 Hour

PM Narendra Modi will launch India’s first semi-high-speed train, which will be run on the Delhi-Meerut RapidX aisle. 

India’s first high-speed train makes the traveling process easy for those people who can do daily up-down from Meerut to Delhi. On Friday, PM Narendra Modi launched the emphasis section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor at Sahibabad Rapidx Station, Uttar Pradesh.

PM Narendra Modi also launched the RapidX train that connects Sahibabad to Duhai Depot, celebrating the liftoff of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) in India. These trains are also known as ‘Namo Bharat’. 

PM Narendra Modi is anticipated to reach the station by the Hindon air base. He takes a ride on the first train to Duhai and marks an assembly at Vasundhara around noon. 

An NCRTC official said” He will reach Hindon IAF station around 10.30 am and reach Sahibabad RapidX station around 11.30 am. He organized a public rally from the ground in Vasundhara’s Sector 8.” 

In these trains, which deliver comfy seats and air conditioning, the preference section of RRTS is also going to boost travel in Ghaziabad. The other options for travel like auto, buses, and private buses, or taxis, amongst the hot and humid weather clobber with traffic. The distance between two stoppages takes a minimum of 30-35 minutes by road, but this high-speed train takes only 12 minutes to cover this distance. There are a total of 5 stations in the 17-km priority section- Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, and Duhai Depot. 

A total 8 corridors have been recognized to be molded in NCR, 3 corridors have been categorized to be enforced in phase-1 including with Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Corridor: Delhi-Gurugram-SNB-Alwar Corridor: and Delhi-Panipat Corridor. 

Delhi-Meerut RapidX Capacity and Features

  • These RapidX trains involve 407 seats arranged in a 2×2 format while 1,061 passengers can stand inside. 
  • In these trains, separate seats have overhanging shelves with more than sufficient storehouse margin. 
  • Each RapidX train carries six coaches with four standard coaches and also offers a premium coach with extra leg space expanse is the Delhi Metro, there is also a special coach reserved for women or the core coach will be reachable by the special lounge.
  • In these RapidX trains, design cabins for pilots on both ends of the locomotive. 

Delhi-Meerut RapidX Train Fare

In these RapidX trains, fares will be constructed based on the distance or stations discovered. For instance, if you hang from Sahibabad to Ghaziabad and Guldhar station on a standard coach then you will pay Rs 30, and it may be 40 to Duhai and 50 to Duhai Depot. On the other hand, if you ride from Ghaziabad to Sahibabad then you will pay Rs 30, and it may cost 20 to Guldhar and 30 to Dubai and Duhai Depot. 

On this train, if you do the one-way ride from Duhai station to Sahibabad then you have to pay Rs 50 or if you choose a premium coach from Sahibabad to Ghaziabad and Duhai Station, then you have to pay Rs 60, Sahibabad to Duhai will cost Rs 80 and Duhai Depot Rs 100. According to the TOI report, the rates may change as more stations or sections. 

RRTS is a unique rail-based, semi-high, commonness commuter transit method that is customized to deliver high-speed trains for intercity commuting every 15 minutes. They come to the station every 5 minutes as needed.
