South Korean tech giant Samsung Monday said it has sold 2 million units of it’s a series in just 40 days, clocking about USD 500 million which is nearly about (Rs. 3500 crores) in sales.

It is to be noted that Samsung is currently selling its A10, A20, A30, A50 models under A2 series priced Rs 8490 onwards.

They have added that Galaxy A80, A70, A2 core in the upcoming weeks. The A2 core which is priced at Rs 5,290 will be offering for entry-level smartphone buyers while A80 will offer great innovative features.

In the last 40 days, the company has sold about 2 million units clocking USD 500 million. The A50, A30, & A10 have received a tremendous amount of response from metropolitan & smaller cities in the countrywide. Samsung India Senior Vice-President & Chief Marketing Officer, Ranjivit Singh further added that the company is confident of achieving its USD 4billion target revenue.

Samsung, which is locked in an intense battlefield for leadership in this hyper-competitive Indian smartphone market with its Chinese player Xiaomi, said that it will launch 3 more smartphones in the next coming weeks. It has again stated that it will launch a new model every month under the A series.

The company will launch its Galaxy A80 in the Indian market in the coming weeks and the device will compete in the premium category.

OnePlus, which is a key competitor to Samsung in the premium category, had a 26 % share, is unveiling its latest device later on Tuesday. While Apple had a 19 % share in the said quarter. Other players accounted for the remaining 11 % share of the premium segment.

In February, the South Korean tech giant had said it aimed to garner USD 4 billion (around Rs 28,000 crore) in revenue this year in India from its Galaxy A smartphones range that is aimed at the millennials.
