The old building of Parliament is a circular building, there aren’t any Indian cultural ideographic or symbols that present it. There is no sign of present Indian culture. So this building has changed into the new building, which was started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 28.
The new Parliament building presents a full display of Indian cultural and civilization history. The interior design and theme present the three national symbols of India- the lotus, the peacock, and the banyan tree.

Indian Culture and Mythology at the New Parliament’s Entrance

There are six gates in the new Parliament building- Gaja Dwar, Ashwa Dwar, Garuda Dwar, Makar Dwar, Shardula Dwar, and Hamsa Dwar. All these Dwar present the culture and an ideal meaning that presents Indian culture.

Gaja Dwar

The Gaja Dwar is named after the elephant, and this Dwar is allocated on the north side of the new parliament buildings. The elephant structure presents intelligence, evocation, plenty, and wisdom.

Hamsa Dwar

The Hamsa Dwar is dedicated to the goddess Saraswati and also represents self-realization and perception. The presence of the Swan at the entrance also presents the knowledge.

Shardula Dwar

Shardula Dwar represents a mythological creature that has the body of a lion and the head of a horse, elephant, or parrot. This gate symbolizes the power of the people of the country.

Garuda Dwar

Garuda Dwar is located at the eastern entrance to the new parliament, The Garuda is the king of birds that represent power and dharma and this is also a mount of Lord Vishnu.

Makara Dwar

The Makara gate name is dedicated to a sea creature often depicted as half mammal and half fish. The creature represents protection and this is also seen in Hindu and Buddhist monuments.

Ashwa Dwar

The Ashwa is named after a horse that was found in the ancient Rigveda in Indian culture. This horse symbolizes power, strength, and courage.

All the gates of the new Parliament, represent Indian culture and mythology. But inside the buildings, realizes that it is a composite of modern & technology.

The entire building is established with an advanced security system that includes facial recognition software, extensive CCTV coverage, and advanced screening processes for visitors.
Along with this, a striking feature is the digital interface delivered for every member of parliament.

Once an MP enters the Rajya Sabha or Lok Sabha, the in-built laptops permit them to register their attendance, deliver requests to speak and access documents, and also report related to the work. These modern features make parliament a more eco-friendly place and also reduce the burden of paperwork.

The dynamic sound system was also established in the new parliament building. It is specially designed for the main chambers.
