The BJP has announced the name of Tejasvi Surya, 28, for Bengaluru South Lok Sabha seat ending long suspense. Surya is an advocate and general secretary of BJP Youth wing, Karnataka.

The BJP Central Election Committee made the announcement well after midnight. It is a mystery as to why the BJP central leadership dropped the name of Tejaswini Ananthkumar, wife of the late Ananthkumar in spite of her impressive track record as a social worker.

According to sources, it is the faction feud within the Karnataka BJP which hurt Tejaswini’s chances though she belonged to none of the groups.
