The Indian government’s flagship scheme, Poshan Abhiyaan, which was launched to address various malnutrition issues, will celebrate its 7th edition of National Poshan Pakhwada 2025 from April 8 to 22. Approximately 14 lakh Anganwadi Centers are operating under this mission across the country and specifically benefitting vulnerable groups comprising adolescents, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers.
To make this scheme’s implementation and reach more effective, the 7th edition of the Poshan Pakhwada has introduced the Poshan Abhiyaan App, a technological module that aims to strengthen nutrition services’ reach to vulnerable groups.

Poshan Abhiyaan App: Launch of New Beneficiary Module

Previously, in 2021, the Poshan Tracker App was launched in an attempt to enhance the delivery services by the Anganwadi workers. This mobile-based application eliminated the need for manual reporting and helped Anganwadi workers deliver proactive services and track the progress of beneficiaries. Since then, this app has enabled better monitoring of Anganwadi centers, AWWs, and beneficiaries and enabled the government to make more strategic decisions to improve nutrition programs.
Since its launch, this Poshan Abhiyaan App has undergone many advancements, including child growth tracking curves, pregnancy body mass index tracker, etc., that have helped in identifying nutritionally weak pregnant women. The data collected by this application has been used to implement necessary actions to solve issues regarding malnutrition.
Recently, a new beneficiary module has been introduced to the Poshan Tracker App 2025 app that aims to make efficient delivery of services and tracking of the health status of beneficiaries. The newly introduced module’s primary goal is to provide opportunities to those women and girls from vulnerable groups who could not avail of services from Anganwadi centers due to some reasons. By using this module, the interested beneficiaries can register themselves in the nearest Anganwadi Centre by following simple steps on the user-friendly Poshan Tracker app.
Poshan Tracker App 2025 New Module Features
A new beneficiary module has been added to the existing Poshan Abhiyan App in an attempt to improve service delivery and users’ overall experience. Here are the few features introduced within the app by this module:
1. Streamlined Registration Process
The newly introduced module in the app for one of the India’s best government health initiatives has eliminated the need to maintain manual logs, which was a time-consuming process and involved many errors. AWWs can easily register the potential beneficiaries using a QR code-based method. Additionally, this module will automatically link Aadhaar data at the time of registration, ensuring auto-verification and quick service delivery in the future.
2. Categorization of Beneficiaries
The new module will automatically group beneficiaries into the three existing categories: pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and children between 0 and 6 years. These vulnerable groups are supported by various services, such as trimester progress monitoring, IFA tablets supply, postnatal care services, immunization, etc.
3. Alerts & Reminders
In urban areas with high populations, there might be a chance that some potential beneficiaries are missed by AWWs. The newly introduced module will provide alerts to them about missed services and provide an efficient way to track the health progress and supplementary food schedules of the beneficiaries.
4. Data Dashboard & Report
This feature of the upgraded Poshan Abhiyaan App 2025 will assist health administrators in identifying areas with high risks, like areas with a high population of undernourished children and women. This data will assist them in delivering required services and resources effectively.
5. Integration with Health Systems
The latest introduced module can be integrated with other health systems launched under Child Nutrition India and women’s health improvement initiatives launched by the government. ASHA workers, PHC’s, and other health workers can easily access essential data and implement required medical services.
6. Multilingual Interface
The Poshan Abhiyaan App has connected Anganwadi workers and beneficiaries from 772 districts across all the Indian states and union territories. To ensure accessibility of services by beneficiaries in all states, the app’s new module supports 13 regional languages.
National Poshan Pakhwada 2025: Strengthening India Against Malnutrition
Since the introduction of the upgraded version of the Poshan Tracker App 2025, over 25 lakh people have downloaded it, and nearly 40,000 have registered themselves for the beneficiary services. During the 7th edition of Poshan Pakhwada, the main focus will be to increase awareness about the nutritional services under this flagship health initiative among the vulnerable groups that have previously missed these benefits. A Nutrition Specialist at UNICEF India, Dr. Richa Singh Pandey, said that this newly introduced module is a significant step towards empowering beneficiaries and AWWs and will greatly assist in expanding digital literacy among them.
